Trivial Pursuit

03.12.08 (12:56 pm)   [edit]

The congress of the United States could not stop a president from pre-emptively bombing and invading a sovereign country under false pretense of an impending disaster. They can't stop the president's barbaric action of torturing prisoners in order to get information. They couldn't rescue the victims of Katrina nor provide adequate health care for our wounded veterans.

But they are able to drag athletes in front of their committees under the threat of perjury to testify if they have ever used steroids. Now they have went one step farther they are threatening churches with subpoenas to investigate their records to see if they are operating within the law, isn't that the job of the I.R.S. We have a myriad of problems in this country, a huge budget deficit, inflation, high energy prices and a possible recession and the most important thing on their agenda  is church records. I call that trivial pursuit.
