Proof of Incompetence
02.19.08 (11:08 pm) [edit]
The F.D.A. sent an inspection team to China to inspect a manufacturer of ingredients that goes into a blood thinner that has been causing allergic reactions in patients. The Inspectors gave the plant that they inspected a glowing report, now we discover that they inspected the wrong plant. Their excuse for this blunder is that no one on the inspection team spoke fluent Chinese. How incompetent can you be to send an inspection team to a foreign country without a fluent interpreter.
A willing Accomplice
02.18.08 (1:46 pm) [edit]Bernard Bernanke Chief of the Federal Reserve Bank, Henry Paulson Secretary the Treasure and the office of Comptroller of the Currency is responsible for the mortgaging fiasco our country finds itself in today. All three were responsible for invoking a clause that prevented State Attorney Generals from proceeding against predatory lenders who through various schemes made outlandish loans
to people with suspect credit records who were not able to pay the mortgage based on their income.
Many schemes were used such as no down payment, teaser rates that increased astronomically after five years, giving kickbacks to people who took out the loans.
Now we find ourselves with a housing market that is in disarray because many people who took out these loans also took out equity loans on the property and as soon as the rate of interest increased the potential owner discovered that he was not able to pay and now the house is in foreclosure and more is owed on it than it is worth.
This has caused a glut in the housing market of unsold and repossess houses. The lending institution is going to write them off as a loss and the communities are going to suffer because of a loss of tax base both deprives our needed treasure of cash and it's all because of the people we placed in charge became willing accomplices to this home mortgaging scheme
God Help Us All
02.14.08 (9:18 am) [edit]President Bush just came on television and announced that a terrorist was some where in the world planning to attack us. Then he went on to announced how important it was for the congress to pass the Foreign Surveillance act to protect us from the terrorist.
Now here is the kicker, he demanded that a clause be inserted in the law to prevent the Congress and Senate from investigating the telecommunication companies that has illegally listened to our phone calls and violated our rights to privacy or he would veto the bill. Doesn't it make you wonder what these companies did that was so egregious that protecting them from law suits and investigations is more important than protecting the U.S. from terrorist. Don't be surprised if those mealy mouth senators and congressmen go along with him. God help us all.
The Epitomy of hypocrisy
02.13.08 (3:31 pm) [edit]Watching the CPAC convention was like watching people stuck in yester year talking about things that never were, never has been and never will be like a smaller government lower taxes and a balance budget. Out of the last 36 years republicans have been in charge for 24 of those years and all they left us with was a larger government, and a huge deficits because of their tax cuts. They consider Ronald Regan the God father of conservatism and he quadrupled the national debt. President Regan was the only president to give school children a dollop of ketchup and call it a vegetable. They kept talking about the increase in money coming into the treasure because of the tax cuts, but the deficits kept getting larger because if you draw cash on your credit card you have more money in your pocket but the credit card bill keeps getting larger republicans don't seem to understand that, so they end up with larger government, big deficit and lower taxes I guess one out of three isn't bad. They accused poor John McCain of being for amnesty but isn't Ronald Regan the father of amnesty. They keep talking about the over turning Roe vs Wade and appointing Judges to accomplish it, how come the question of abortion only comes up at election time. What happened to all those faith based initiative that was promised to the religious right in 2004 that never came to fruition. Yet the republicans controlled the house, senate and presidency during this time. I think the republican party would be considered more legitimate if it didn't have as it's main spoke person a a three time married and divorced social misfit like Rush Limbaugh who talks about family values but obviously doesn't value the family. At the conclusion of the convention the republicans reminded of thirsty people caught in a desert suffering from optical illusions and seeing water where there's only sand.
Terror in the Butcher Shop
02.11.08 (3:17 pm) [edit]The USDA has just permitted Whole sale meat packing plants to sell beef tainted by E Coli to sell with a cook only warning on the package. After the E Coli out break of hamburger patties sold by Jack in the Box where the very old and the very young became deathly ill makes one wonder who gave the order to permit this. What if the tainted meat is not properly cooked, how many homes do you know that cooks by a thermometer, what if there is cross contamination of other meat products due to improper packaging?. Is there anybody looking out for the buying public of America. Some politican had to receive a handsome donation from the meat packing industry for this to become legal. We are so concerned about the Islamist terrorist and the harm he could cause us, but we better be worried about that contaminated steak on our plate. When the terrorist screams out death to america he could be talking about the steak on your plate or the roast in the oven.
Proof That the Surge didn't Work
02.06.08 (9:04 pm) [edit]John Mccain is going around gloating about how he was for the surge and proof that it did work. I totally disagree with him unless he calls killing a lot of Iraqis proof. The reason for the surge was to give the American installed government the time to become functional which it hasn't. Electricity is still available to Iraqis only 6 hours a day, oil production is less than it was prior to the invasion, potable water is still almost non existent and no banking system exist after five years of occupation. There is no police or security system that can function without our supervision and there is two million iraqis who are on the borders of Syria and Egypt who are afraid to return home because of their feeling of insecurity. All the Iraqis that we didn't kill migrated to other countries so what valid proof does he have that the surge was a glowing success. and beside we are still spending approximately three million dollars per week in a country that it's oil revenues was supposed to pay for the war. I think John McCain will try to snatch victory from this defeat irregardless of what the facts are.
The Real Terrorist Threat
02.05.08 (11:38 pm) [edit]President Bush keeps arousing our fear and anxiety by reminding us of the radical Islamist terrorist threat. If we proceed down the path that we are headed soon we will recognize that our fears and anxiety has been misplaced and that our elected officials are the real terrorist not because of what they do but because of what they failed to do. We have 47 million people without health care and our elected terrorist says it's because it's to expensive and no one is smart enough to devise a system that can make health care available to all. It doesn't have to be free it can be all inclusive whereby everybody pays something. Just suppose we had an epidemic outbreak of some deadly disease that even if it didn't kill all, it resulted in people suffering from chronic illness for a long period of time. Just think 47 million sick people without health care wouldn't that be a form of terror. Consider the mortgage crisis that has reduced construction by better than 50% in the last year, isn't it possible that we could suffer a depression in the construction industry, plumbing, electri cal workers, furniture makers, carpet installers, title layers, drywallers, Horticulture and landscapers. 45 percent of the people who purchased home using sub prime mortgage the past two years are now homeless because of the shenanigans pulled by the mortgage brokers and lenders, shouldn't that be considered a form of terrorism. What about the manipulation of the oil prices where some people have a terrible choice of putting food on the table a roof over their head and can't afford gas to get to work. Think of the people in north east and mid west and the struggle they are having trying to afford heating oil, think of the frost bite and other thermal injuries that could occur, isn't that a form of terror. Think of the mental depression and anxiety these conditions cause but would go untreated simply because mental health is a part of the health care system. Consider the financial institutions that persuaded you to invest in worthless securities and the supreme court ruled that irregardless of how unscrupulous the institution was that was a risk you took and the institution escape with impunity, isn't that a terrorist act. I am firmly convinced that we have met the terrorist and it is the American Government.
